The world is changing quickly and dramatically. We’re being bombarded with information, and emotions are running high. Self-care is paramount while we continue to strive for our goals and live our best lives, but how can we tend to our well-being and our aspirations in these unprecedented times?
The answer lies in embracing simplicity.
In complete contrast to the freneticism of the outside world, we recalibrate and re-energise by emptying our cup. Only with an empty cup can we continue to pour knowledge, blessings, love, and peace into our lives. And the same is true for those around us.
So what does this mean in practical terms?
Emptying our cup is about setting regular time aside to disentangle from the five senses. When we quieten our minds and focus on stillness, we are able to not only slow down the racing thoughts that consume us… we are also able to (quite literally) flush those negative thoughts away and see clearly. All of this is achievable with a special meditation called the Meditation on Twin Hearts. It’s scientifically validated and has numerous benefits for body, mind, and spirit.
Twin Hearts enables us to let go of preconceived ideas, to be open to new knowledge and to suspend our judgement as we learn. We become humble, we adopt the mindset of a beginner. The more we know, the less we know. On the other hand, when someone believes they already know everything their ‘cup’ is full, and that rigid standpoint blocks learning and spiritual growth, stopping us from living authentic lives.
Master Choa Kok Sui emphasised this in the seminars he taught and the books he wrote. The modern founder of Pranic Healing, Master Choa Kok Sui told students to temporarily set aside their existing beliefs so they could test and experience the teachings directly. Listening and practicing first, observing the results, evaluating later. He taught students not to believe anything blindly – including his own words – but to test and validate. This applies to every aspect of life and helps us stay grounded during times of change and evolution.
If (for example), a Pranic Healing student thinks that energy healing is impossible, their mind will be closed. But if they empty their cup, they become curious and open-minded, with a ‘let me try this technique, let me see what happens’ attitude. This allows new experiences, insights, and spiritual development to unfold. A calm and humble mind becomes like an empty vessel that can receive wisdom. When we know how to reach this state and we follow techniques that have been specially curated to do so, we have better mastery of our lives. This benefits us and our relationships, rippling out to send waves of love and harmony into the world.
It all starts within. It all starts with learning to control the mind.
